Total slots: 2,418 (Clusters/Units/Trades में विभाजित)
Selection: Pure merit (10वीं+ITI), no exam/CBT
Apply window: 12/08/2025 (11:00) to 11/09/2025 (17:00)
Training: 1 year; Stipend ₹7,000/month (as per RBE No.202/2019)
Mode: Online only; choose one cluster and give unit preferences within it
Single centralized notification under Apprentices Act 1961 for all Central Railway units; nodal agency: RRC/CR.
No centralized merit list; final lists will be cluster/unit/trade/community-wise.
Aadhaar-based registration (or alternate Govt ID for specified states), strict photo/sign specs, and DV stage medical certificate as per annexure mandatory.

Age: 15–24 years as on 12/08/2025
Relaxation: SC/ST 5 years; OBC 3 years; PwBD 10 years; Ex-Servicemen = service length +3 years (as per rules)
DOB ranges (inclusive): UR 12/08/2001–12/08/2010; SC/ST 12/08/1996–12/08/2010; OBC 12/08/1998–12/08/2010
Education: 10th/SSC (10+2 system) with minimum 50% aggregate + ITI in relevant trade (NCVT/SCVT) with NTC/Provisional NTC
Not eligible: Engineering Graduates/Diploma holders (separate scheme)
Application Fee Central Railway Apprentice
₹100 (Non-refundable) for applicable categories
No fee for SC/ST/PwBD/Women
Payment via integrated gateway (Debit/Credit/Netbanking/UPI/Wallet); e-receipt generated; “Verify Payment” option available for reconciliation. Duplicate payments may be forfeited.
10th/SSC percentage (all subjects, not best of five), and
ITI consolidated marks in the applied trade (as per consolidated marksheet/Provisional NTC)
Tie-breakers:
Older candidate preferred
If DOB same, candidate who passed matric earlier preferred
Final panels: Prepared cluster/unit-wise, trade-wise, community-wise equal to available slots. Originals and prescribed medical certificate required at DV.
Training & Stipend
Training period: 1 year for all trades
Stipend: ₹7,000/month for National/State Certificate holders (RBE No.202/2019)

Trades (Indicative) 2418 posts of Apprentices
Fitter, Electrician, Welder (Gas & Electric), Machinist, Carpenter, Painter (General), Mechanic (Diesel), Electronics Mechanic, Programming & Systems Administration Assistant (COPA/PSAA), Sheet Metal Worker, Instrument Mechanic, Laboratory Assistant (CP), Mechanic (Motor Vehicle) and others. All trades carry 1-year training.
PwBD Suitability 2418 posts of Apprentices
Eligible categories:
OH (Locomotor/Cerebral palsy) with ≥40% relevant disability
HH with ≥60 dB in better ear
VH (Low Vision) as defined
Trade-wise suitability and specific conditions are listed in the PDF (e.g., Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Machinist, Painter, Carpenter, Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Turner, Sheet Metal Worker, Instrument Mechanic, Laboratory Assistant (CP), Programming & Systems Administration Assistant).
Disability certificate must be as per specified annexures issued by a competent Medical Board.

Originals are mandatory at DV; improper/corrupt uploads can lead to cancellation

Apply online; choose single cluster; provide unit preferences within that cluster
Use Aadhaar (12-digit) or Enrolment ID (28-digit); for Jammu & Kashmir/Meghalaya/Assam, a valid Govt ID (Voter ID/Passport/Driving License etc.) is acceptable
Ensure exact match of name/father’s name/DOB with matric records
Keep active mobile/email for all communications
Photo: Color, 3.5×3.5cm, 100DPI, 20–70KB, taken within last 3 months, no cap/sunglasses; keep two extra copies for DV
Signature: 3.5×3.5cm, 100DPI, 20–30KB (JPG/JPEG)
Complete fee payment; download/print final application and e-receipt

No TA/DA for DV; post-selection division/unit change not entertained
Incorrect/fake information leads to cancellation; multiple applications with varying particulars will be summarily rejected
